This New Year’s Eve, see bellydancer and fire performer Lorenda along with a slew of other dazzling talent at the “Time Traveler’s Reunion” New Year’s Eve event in Philadelphia. The event is hosted by Philly’s legendary art and party collective Bangarang.
Prepare yourselves for an adventure through past, present, and future. Reunite with special friends and wild characters from every time and place. Travel into the unknown to explore the distant future, or journey back to the prehistoric era to find out where the wild things really came from.
Bangarang is transforming ION Night Club and Lolie’s Ale House into a time travelers’ paradise, featuring four areas of sound, lights, and lasers that will stimulate and amaze you throughout this adventure. The outdoor area will be sectioned off from the parking lot to give everyone a safe refuge in the present to chill, smoke, and enjoy some excellent performances while the interior will be decorated as time periods from the past and future featuring DJs, aerial performers, lasers, projection art and plenty of fun.

1- Ion Nightclub – The Future (Andrea Morris, Phil Norton, Lasers4life) Welcome to the year 3478. Humans have mastered space travel. Instead of vacationing in a different city, we now enjoy interplanetary getaways – and you’ve just arrived at the hottest nightclub in the galaxy. Futuristic outer-space theme complete with laser webs, UV-reactive art pieces and glowing dance cages.
2- Lolie’s Ale House – Early 1900s (Anna Laura, Jessica Koob, Bethanie Zee) The main entrance will be an early noir theme set in the 1900s – 1920s era. Black & white movies and a classic photo booth will be featured to capture the moment. Chandeliers and marquee spotlights will bless the room’s aesthetic, giving guests a lovely historic experience as they first arrive.
3- Lolie’s downstairs – Prehistoric Jungle (Devant Whitefield) Traveling downstairs will transport you to the farthest point of the past. The “Ugg’s Club” will be a hybrid between Flintstones and jurassic aesthetics. Vines, shrubs, fog and fallen asteroids will turn this room into a prehistoric paradise.
4- Lolie’s backroom – Childhood Playroom (Sara Tonin, Melissa Klima) Crawl into the daycare! Today we’re learning to color inside the lines and watch cartoons! Make sure to wake up from nap time before midnight! The childhood chill room will be an amazing trip through the 80s and 90s. Various art installs and decor will be a nostalgic reminder of your early years on this earth. Games, toys, and childhood memories await guests as they kick back and reflect on where they came from.

The annual Philadelphia Experiment (PEX) Heartburn event is coming to the 23rd Street Armory in Philadelphia 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Feb. 13, 2016. The event doubles as a Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year celebration. PEX continues its tradition of showcasing some of the best fire performers in the Philadelphia region. Among them, NJ belly dancer Lorenda will entertain with her breed of bellydance mixed with fire. The next installment of “Drink ‘N’ Draw” at the Boneyard Bar and Grill will feature the bellydancer Lorenda from 10 p.m. to midnight Thursday, Jan. 28. Lorenda will hold different poses for set lengths of time while the audience draws, paints or photographs her. The event is free and some art supplies will be provided. All skill levels are welcome.
Lorenda will also entertain the crowd before and after the Drink ‘N’ Draw by belly dancing with fire and LED wings.
The Lux Arati Fall Fire and Arts Fest is coming to Philadelphia Sunday, Nov. 15. The event will feature many of the best fire and flow artists in the Philly region. The event will be from 2-6 p.m. and located at Liberty Lands Park, 926 N. American St. in Northern Liberties.
Lux Arati, Philly’s all-female fire arts troupe, will be performing its latest performance piece, “Alchemy,” that was featured at the PEX Summer Festival 2015 as a part of the Russian Roulette Variety Show. In addition, the group has invited some of its favorite local performers to put on a never-before-seen collection of some of the most diverse and talented performance artists in the City of Brotherly Love and beyond. Just some of the lineup includes bellydance by Lorenda, the amazing fire artist Helios, members of the Burning Hearts Fire and Light Theater, and performance artist Plum Dragoness.
This unique showcase will be immediately after the Fall Art Market, a chance to browse handcrafted items and more from local artists and business vendors.
